It is a large house, designed in a neo-classical style as they used to built residences in Hamburg in Germany a hundred years ago. But this house is located in Oranjezicht, overloocking the city of Cape Town and Table Bay. It is the home of Marion Lahann, who came to South Africa in 1960 to stay with her sister and brother-in-law and to see the open country and wild animals. She was persuaded to work at the German Old Aged Home in Johannesburg but jumped at the opportunity to move to the orphanage in Cape Town as she was never really happy in Johannesburg.
